Rocom in Swift Move to Replace Mitel

Richard Carter, managing director of distributor Rocom, has confirmed that his company will be distributing the Nortel BCM system in earnest from the beginning of July. The move comes two months after Mitel ditched all their distributors, including Rocom, to go for a direct to dealer model.

Carter said, “The BCM is perfect for the SME market and matches our profile exactly. It is a highly competitive and feature rich product which we regard as being one of the best examples of a ‘next generation PBX’.

So far we have undertaken a ‘soft launch’ of the product and have experienced tremendous interest from resellers who see the product as an easier sale that the Mitel systems. In the next few weeks we will be running a number of reseller days and with stock arriving in two weeks time we will be ready to sell in earnest at the start of July.”

Carter also confirmed that resellers will be able to source installation and maintenance services via BT should they wish to.

Nortel BCM is currently distributed by Westcon/Crane, Azlan/C2000 and Clarity.
