Yorkshire based distributor Rocom has opened an office in Manchester, right on the doorstep of its competitor Nimans. Not surprisingly the office is being staffed by five key former employees of Nimans and headed up by Richard Carter, director of business development at Rocom.
Carter told Comms Business Magazine, “We could not expect all of our new recruits to commute over the Pennines every day so joining me in the Rocom Manchester office are Tom Maxwell, Steve Cartwright, Jason Welch and former Nimans dealer team manager Mark Weaver.”
It’s clear that there will be battles ahead between the two giants of telecoms distribution in the weeks and months ahead. MTV Telecom’s Martin Hatcher, observing from the relative peace and quiet of Surrey commented, “Here we have two highly professional companies allowing their egos to over rule good sound business logic.”
