Sagem Wireless has strengthened its commitment to the development of GSM technology by joining the GSM Association, the organisation which represents the interests of the worldwide mobile communications industry, and will now contribute to the development of future products and technologies.

Sagem Wireless designs and supplies cutting edge handsets, customised for a range of brands (sport, luxury, fashion, operators), so that everyone can find a handset to suit their style.

“Our mission is to provide the innovations that each group of mobile phone users needs, and to bring those innovations to market working together with the leading brands,” said Thierry Buffenoir, CEO of Sagem Wireless.

Sagem Wireless is already member of numerous organisations, including the OMA (Open Mobile Alliance), the 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project), the NFC Forum (Near Field Communications Forum), the Mobile TV Forum (Forum TV Mobile), and the Contactless Mobile Services Forum (Forum des Services Mobiles Sans Contact).

Joining the GSM Association demonstrates Sagem Wireless’s commitment and willingness to contribute its know-how in mobile technologies, by participating today in defining standards for tomorrow, such as RCS (Rich Communication Suite) and LTE (Long Term Evolution).
