Samsung enters Japanese LTE Market

Samsung Electronics, an advanced network solutions provider, has today announced its provision of LTE solutions to KDDI, one of Japan’s largest telecom operators. KDDI and Samsung plan to launch a commercial LTE service in 2012.

Samsung aims to introduce the industry’s first LTE solution for hotspots in extremely dense user areas that require higher capacity mobile broadband, while simultaneously improving service quality in weak signal areas.

Youngky Kim, executive vice president and general manager for the telecommunication systems business at Samsung Electronics, said: “As a long term partner of KDDI, we’re very pleased to support them in establishing a new chapter of mobile communication in Japan.”

Through this partnership, Samsung expands its growing success and global presence within the industry following major LTE successes in the US, Saudi Arabia and South Korea.
