Samsung Electronics is launching the Emporio Armani Samsung Mobile, Night Effect, in the UK this January exclusively with Vodafone and Phones 4u. The launch will be supported by a £1 million marketing campaign.

Following the successful launch of the Giorgio Armani handset at the beginning of 2008, the Night Effect is the latest product of the collaboration between Samsung and one of the world’s top fashion and lifestyle design names, Giorgio Armani. The Emporio Armani Samsung phone targets young consumers with active and fashionable lifestyles where music is an essential part of everyday life.

With quick access shortcut music buttons and several supporting features, this music-dedicated mobile is equipped with Amoled display giving a sharp and high quality picture. Inspired by the illuminating architecture of Tokyo’s urban landscape, the handset has a signature illuminating LED around the edge of the phone.

Giorgio Armani said: “Those who love Emporio Armani also often love nightlife. They like going out in the city, after dark, when the bright lights of a modern metropolis illuminate the streets. For this young, cool, and social crowd, the Night Effect mobile is the perfect accessory. It allows them to keep in touch with their friends; it looks modern and chic, and glows when active; and it has been created specifically for easy management and use of music files.”

Mark Mitchinson, vice president at Samsung Mobile UK and Ireland, added: “Samsung recognises the consumers’ need for mobiles that reflect their lifestyle. The Night Effect offers the young a phone that really stands out and gives them cutting edge technology individually important to them and without compromise.”

Along with its music capabilities, the Night Effect has photo and video capability using the embedded three megapixel camera. The 3.5mm audio jack means users can plug in their favourite headphones and enjoy their playlists.
