Sangoma Signs up ProVu for Distribution

Sangoma Technologies Corporation, the provider of hardware and software components that enable or enhance IP communications systems for both voice and data, has signed a distribution agreement with ProVu. As a result of this arrangement, ProVu will offer Sangoma’s full Vega series of gateway appliance solutions to resellers, network operators and service providers in the UK.

“ProVu has an outstanding reputation for delivering very compelling and cost-effective communications technologies to a wide array of customers,” said Bill Wignall, chief executive officer for Sangoma. “We are delighted to partner with this very knowledgeable, experienced and successful company. Through this relationship, we are confident that our mutual customers can leverage the latest communications solutions in a strategic and cost-effective manner.”

Headquartered in Huddersfield, England, ProVu is a full-service communications technology provider. The company offers a wide range of products and services to an impressive customer base that includes some of the largest service providers in the UK. Among the solutions ProVu offers are communications platforms, endpoints, software and applications, as well as training and customer support.

With the addition of the Vega series from Sangoma to its portfolio, ProVu can easily address the TDM to IP interworking challenges facing its customers small and large. Support for analogue and digital PSTN interfaces, public network signalling protocols, and a full range of IP codecs and protocols in the Vega gateways, help to ensure that ProVu has the flexibility to aid businesses in navigating the integration of VoIP that they need.

As Darren Garland, managing director of ProVu, explains, the partnership with Sangoma enables ProVu to deliver compelling solutions that can comprehensively address the challenges of IP and TDM interworking.

“There are countless organizations across the UK that are hesitant to integrate IP communications and applications into their networks, due to the perceived costs and disruption associated with these migration efforts,” said Garland. “Sangoma’s technologies enable customers to seamlessly leverage these advanced capabilities in a controlled, cost-effective manner. Sangoma has committed to continue to deliver and expand the Vega series products that our customers rely upon. This partnership gives us the ability to offer even more tangible solutions that will not only streamline and improve communications, but also make a dramatic impact to the bottom line.”
