Sawkins Departs Cisco for VC Placement with BCS Global

BCS Global, a worldwide provider of video conferencing and collaboration services, today announced the appointment of three executives to its global management team, accelerating plans for continued growth in key markets and supporting its ongoing roll-out of new services and applications for its worldwide customers.

Clive Sawkins joins the company as Senior Vice President, Global Sales and Marketing, having held senior positions in Nortel Networks and Avaya. Most recently, Clive was responsible for the Unified Communications and Telepresence Video Collaboration business at Cisco Systems, Europe.

BCS say that Sawkins brings in-depth sales and marketing experience gained over the last 20 years in global telecommunications, with a particular focus on new technologies and applications in emerging markets.

It is understood from sources close to Comms Business Magazine that Sawkins is leaving Cisco at the end of this month and joining a VC company and that his appointment at BCS is as a result of that move.

The other two appointment at BCS are Feizhen Lu comes to BCS Global in the role of Chief Operating Officer and Catherine Playford joins the company as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Corporate Services.

Over the past year, BCS Global has experienced significant growth in North America, Europe and Asia while expanding its Virtual Presence service offerings to include Telepresence, Virtual Presence High Definition, Executive Desktop and Mobile services. The company recently opened new offices in Shanghai and Hong Kong in support of its growing Pacific Rim customer base, and continues to show significant traction in regions already established.
