ScanSource Europe is to offer airtime contracts to resellers in the UK. Working with ScanSource Europe Solution Partners, the distributor can provide resellers with data airtime contracts for use with GPRS-equipped mobile computers.
This initiative has been developed to allow ScanSource to offer resellers competitive contract rates for GPRS data airtime from two of the UK’s major providers with plans to offer contracts from other providers in the near future. In addition to domestic UK contracts, ScanSource can provide resellers with extremely competitive rates that enable roaming across Europe.
“Resellers of mobility solutions can provide additional value to their offering, in the form of
substantial revenue share agreements for the entire life of the hardware,” said Phil Boyd, Director of Partner Services, ScanSource Europe. “With the ever-increasing demand for enterprise mobility, a cost-effective offering such as this is an essential solution.”
ScanSource’s offering will allow resellers to conduct trials using data airtime SIM cards, helping them determine what is the right option for the needs of their end user. Resellers only pay for the airtime used, and receive detailed analysis of the trial with airtime usage, guide to costing, and contract planning.

ScanSource will also keep a supply of SIM cards at its Configuration Centres, offering resellers
the option to have cards installed in their terminals before dispatch, or shipped along with their hardware order. The distributor is also offering a replacement/upgrade programme for old terminals or mobile handsets for new terminals.
