ScanSource Keeping Resellers in the Picture

ScanSource Communications Europe, the value-added distributor of voice, data and video communications products, has announced quarterly partner updates that provide a platform for sharing time-relevant information and enable resellers to be trained and kept up-to-date with the latest vendor developments.

ScanSource will hold an event every three months in the south and north of England, as well as in Scotland, and invite resellers to join them for a day of training, information sharing and hands-on demonstrations. The sessions will be delivered via a combination of ScanSource-driven topics as well as timeslots where vendor representatives will be invited to provide updates or training on relevant topics.

The first series of these Partner Update Meetings was held in November, where 90 resellers joined ScanSource in Maidenhead, Huddersfield and Livingston. Attendees received sales-based training from ScanSource, product-based training from Oak Telecom, Avaya and Plantronics, as well as overviews of the Avaya IP Office 8.0 release and ScanSource’s current and planned range of training and education options from ScanSource University.

“We run these events for two key reasons,” said Kim Jennings, UK Sales Manager, ScanSource Communications Europe. “We’re looking to give resellers updates of what’s going on at ScanSource and in the channel and industry as a whole, while also giving them an opportunity to discover areas of our business that they may not have been aware of, whether that be one of our value-added solutions or a vendor product range that can be added to complement their portfolio and really boost their existing business.”

“ScanSource’s Partner Update Meetings give resellers like us a great opportunity to compare our experiences and thoughts about the Avaya IP Office portfolio and its ongoing evolution with other SME Expert resellers,” said Johan J Ingles-Le Nobel, Marketing Manager, Telefonix Voice & Data. “These quarterly get-togethers of the SME channel not only keep us all up to date on what’s going on and what’s coming round the corner, but also give us great sales ammunition.”

“It was very refreshing to see a major distributor like ScanSource taking time and making the effort to visit the Avaya Partner community in Scotland,” said Andy Steven, Director,TCF Communications Ltd. “The presentations were very interesting, informative and worthwhile for myself and my colleagues. As a result, I am confident they will inspire us towards increased sales of IP Office v8.0.”

“These events have been and look to be extremely valuable for extending our business,” said Richard Garel-Jones, Voice Product Manager, Oak Telecom. “The fact that we get dedicated time to show resellers how our offer can be used to complement their existing portfolio and enhance the service they provide their customers is really beneficial for us and, ultimately, for them, too.”
