Executives, directors and analysts were asked to rate companies in their own industry on nine criteria, from investment value to social responsibility. This year only the best are listed: a company's score must rank in the top half of its industry survey to be included.

ScanSource has also climbed to number 854 on the prestigious Fortune 1000, Fortune Magazine’s annual list of America’s largest corporations, for 2009. ScanSource jumped 47 spots from its ranking of 901 last year.
