Sennheiser has launched single line variants of its highly successful DW wireless headset series. Previously the DW series could be switched for desk phone or soft phone connection. The two new model variants have a single dedicated connection for either desk phone or soft phone connection, making them a more cost-effective alternative for customers that do not require a switched connectivity option.
Sennheiser’s DW Series wireless headsets provide the perfect solution for office workers needing mobility, allowing them to answer and participate in calls on their desk phone or soft phone when moving around the office. DW Series headsets offer 180 metre range (line of sight), twelve hours of talk time and fast charging, with four hours talk time in just ten minutes and full charge in one hour.
A key feature of the DW Series is the electronic hook switch, enabling remote operations with compatible handsets from a number of leading manufacturers. The DW wireless headphone series offers integration with UC telephony solutions such as Microsoft Lync, IBM Sametime and Cisco Communicator. Users benefit from enhanced flexibility while handling key functions remotely such as answering and ending calls, adjusting the volume or muting the headset, making call handling a great deal easier. An innovative feature is the ability to pair the headset quickly to someone else’s base unit and join a call in an impromptu conference.
The DW series benefits from Sennheiser’s patented and unique ActiveGard technology which detects unsafe audio levels and compresses the signal within milliseconds. The DW series features high performance ultra-noise cancelling microphones to filter out unwanted background noise. The resulting improvement in intelligibility can greatly improve call efficiency.
With the rapid increase in IP based telephony, the DW series also offers true wideband audio when connected to PC softphones or IP desk phones increasing the frequency spectrum to give better sound quality and speech recognition. This is achieved by advanced speaker and microphone designs, developed to meet the Wideband TIA 920 standard required by many manufacturers of phone systems and handsets.
Wearing comfort is another critical consideration, particularly in contact centre environments where agents may be wearing the headset for eight hours a day or more. Sennheiser has undertaken extensive ergonomic research to ensure that the design of its DW series wireless headsets provides all day wearing comfort.
For Sennheiser UK, Nigel Holland, Product Manager commented “Sales of the innovative DW series have been excellent, but not all customers require the ability to switch between desk phone and soft phone connectivity. By introducing single line variants we have been able to reduce the entry-level price point for the DW series making it a cost effective alternative for business users that require mobility and audio excellence at an affordable price.”
