ShoreTel Launches Major Update

Unified Comms
ShoreTel has launched a major update to ShoreTel Mobility, version 8, that empowers everyone with simple, mobile-enabled video conferencing to ensure employees can always stay connected with their colleagues wherever they may be working

ShoreTel Mobility 8 has integration with the ShoreTel Communicator desktop call-control suite, and the new software introduces a virtualised ShoreTel Mobility Router so IT departments can mobile-enable the company workforce to encourage collaboration and productivity.

“We’re making mobile collaboration simple and ubiquitous,” said Pej Roshan, vice president of product management at ShoreTel. “End users want consistency of capabilities regardless of which device they use. Now teams can stay connected and collaborate using the ShoreTel Mobility Client as well as the ShoreTel Communicator desktop client, on any device, and from anywhere.”

LiquidHub, a customer since 2004 with more than 400 ShoreTel users, is a technology solutions integrator with five U.S. offices and two locations in India. “The greatest benefit of ShoreTel Mobility is that it enables people to work from anywhere as if they’re sitting in the office,” said Paul Harewood, CIO at LiquidHub. “Mobility gives our road warriors, especially those working globally, the freedom to communicate at any time while also reducing our IT costs. With the Virtual Mobility Router, we can now deploy new software in minutes instead of hours. We’re now evaluating the new video capabilities in version 8 and are integrating it with our Lifesize system. That way, people will be able to call into room-based video conferences from their devices from wherever they are.”
