ShoreTel Trails New Product Launch

Provider of enterprise IP solutions ShoreTel is set to announce developments to its IP telephony platform, bringing, the company says, true Unified Communications (UC) a step closer.

The improvements will bring better functionality for mobile workers with the launch of the new Mobile Call Manager – which extends ShoreTel’s productivity and connections for users mobile devices regardless of where they are located and increased international functionality for its EMEA customers – new international trunking and analogue support for EMEA.

Additionally Shoretel will extend the range of phones on offer with the launch of a new six-line colour phone.

Results from ShoreTel’s ‘Anywhere Office Survey’ early this year showed that 92% of respondents were employed in organisations where employees work away from the office for part of the working week, with 45% having an IP telephony-enabled phone system to manage calls inside and outside of the office.

Mark Swendsen, EMEA managing director, ShoreTel said, “The next four years will prove critical in this market. It is likely existing brand names will no longer be in the conversation for the leader in telephony. New names like ShoreTel and Microsoft, in conjunction with Cisco, will highlight the cream of this crop. The debate now needs to shift from when VOIP will surpass legacy, to a more substantive discussion of which pure VOIP players are capable of capturing this market.”
