Siemens Target Small Biz with HiPath BizIP

Siemens Communications has announced the UK launch of HiPath BizIP, an IP telephony product for the small office/home office (SoHo) market. The BizIP solution is available solely through Siemens channel partners and delivers “plug and phone” VoIP connectivity. Siemens say the product has already impressed the industry by winning the Best of CeBIT Award 2006 in the IP Telephony category.

Incorporating SIP technology, HiPath BizIP enables the channel to provide the small or home office with low cost access to the growing market of business IP telephony services. According to Siemens the product requires low up-front investment and is easy to install, simple to scale up and incurs minimal handling, training and support costs.

The product not only delivers VoIP offerings leveraging greater value from existing LAN and broadband access, but also works with existing VPN networks providing home and remote offices with a robust VoIP system. With only one wire to the desk and auto configuration through peer-to-peer technology, HiPath BizIP is easy to install, requiring minimal handling, training and support costs and also combines the flexibility for future growth.

Small and home offices are now able to deploy a scalable communications technology that was once the costly domain of blue-chip corporations. HiPath BizIP delivers enterprise telephone services including conferencing, speed dialling, call lists, diversion and swapping, in a package that can scale from two to sixteen phones without the need for a dedicated PBX.

Jim Robertson, Commercial Director at Distributor MTV Telecom commented on the release of BizIP;

"MTV Telecom will be exhibiting the Siemens BizIP at the forthcoming Convergence Summit. BizIP, like other peer to peer systems, breaks new ground in that it is an IP system that runs on a network and does not require a CPU, therefore making installation simple. The Siemens BizIP is in fact so simple to put together we are laying down a challenge to resellers visiting our stand at the Summit; whoever can get a system up and running in the fastest time will win an iPod.”

“The launch of HiPath BizIP presents the channel with the opportunity to equip the small/home office with the latest IP communications technology. The essence of the product is all about easy to use and install cost effective access to converged communications,” said Paul Morgan, Head of Channel Sales, Siemens Communications. “Our channel partners can now offer a broad spectrum of converged communications solutions to businesses of all sizes.”
