Skyscape Continues Rapid Growth

Skyscape Cloud Services is continuing its aggressive recruitment drive to support the company’s delivery of cloud computing in the UK public sector

In terms of number of employees, Skyscape has grown more than ten-fold in four years, with expectations to double its headcount by the end of 2016. The company has achieved significant business success over a short period of time winning high-profile contracts across central and local government, developing a partner community of more than 200 companies and receiving widespread industry recognition, most recently winning the Communications category of the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 EMEA Award.

“As a company, we recognise that our continued success doesn’t just depend on technical innovation but also on the intellectual creativity and calibre of our people. We have seen exponential growth in a relatively short amount of time since our debut on the first iteration of the G-Cloud Framework. To maintain service levels and ensure we continue to be disruptive in terms of how ICT can be delivered, we invest in recruitment ahead of demand and when recruiting focus on ensuring we offer rewarding careers and opportunities for top IT talent who want to make a genuine difference to UK customers and citizens,” said Simon Hansford, CEO of Skyscape Cloud Services. “Our rapidly expanding team operates in an agile, fast-paced environment which fosters growth and innovation. In return for their hard work and dedication, we offer a highly competitive benefits package, the opportunity to take part in paid charity work each year and clear career progression within a thriving company at the fore-front of a growing industry. It is certainly an exciting time to join the Skyscape team and we look forward to welcoming our many new recruits in the months ahead.”

As well as supporting its rapid growth, as demand for assured cloud service continues to grow within the public sector, Skyscape’s ongoing recruitment drive also aims to tackle the technology skills gap. A survey released today by Skyscape Cloud Alliance Partner, EMC, has shown that 97 percent of IT workers said the growth and success of their organisation is reliant on technology, while 79 percent cited their team. 46% percent of respondents also claimed they received training only once a year or more.

Hansford added: “Disruptive technology and highly skilled employees are imperative when it comes to the success of businesses and EMC’s research goes to prove it. We believe that investing in people is a fundamental necessity within business, and are dedicated to providing our own team with comprehensive and ongoing training programmes, while fostering growth in STEM careers.”
