Smartbunker Doubles Specification of Hosted Servers

Smartbunker, the UK's first zero carbon data centre, today announced that it has doubled the specifications of its entry-level managed servers. IBM Blade Servers hosted by Smartbunker now include quad-core Intel processors, 2GB RAM and two 73GB SAS RAID1 hard drives as the minimum specification. This development is in direct response to increased demand for computing power as the complexity and scale of hosted applications grows.

Kelly Smith, managing director at Smartbunker, commented, "Doubling the specification of our entry-level servers reflects the need to match growing application performance demands to the hardware on which it is hosted, and helps us deliver value to our customers into the future. This pre-emptive move further reinforces our position as a trusted provider of secure managed hosting services."

By selecting industry-leading energy efficient components, such as IBM BladeServers, rather than cheaper options, Smartbunker is able to guarantee 100% uptime and minimise the data centre's overall power consumption.
