Snom appoints new UK channel manager

Snom has appointed Steven Try as a channel manager for the UK and Ireland.

Try will work closely with mid-level resellers, helping Snom to offer greater support to both new and existing partners.

His appointment expands Snom’s UK-based channel management team — he joins Lee Underwood, who has been part of the team since 2019. Underwood’s primary focus remains on working with Snom’s distributors and platform partners, as well as its largest resellers.

Bringing almost 20 years of telecoms experience, Try started out at Alcatel-Lucent before spending time at Avaya, Panasonic and most recently with a Titanium 3CX reseller. Described as highly skilled in direct sales within the SMB market, Try has experience with on-premise and hosted software, connectivity, mobile contracts and managed services.

Commenting on his appointment, he said: “Snom is synonymous with quality and this is something I value – I need to believe in a product in order to successfully communicate it to customers.

“Snom is also a very tight knit team. There is a real sense of togetherness, which is essential when you have teams working independently across the globe.”

Try added that Snom UK wants to have the market penetration it has elsewhere in Europe, aiming to ‘Snomify’ the UK comms market and become vendor of choice for resellers with multiple handsets in their product portfolio.

Lee Underwood, channel manager UK & Ireland at Snom said: “It’s a pleasure to be working alongside Steven. I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together as a team and extending Snom’s presence further in the UK and Ireland.”
