Soft Switch Shoot on Summit Eve

Griffin Internet is organising an event with a difference in October called the ‘Soft Switch Shoot Out’

This event will allow hosted telephony companies the opportunity to pitch their business solutions in front of Griffin’s key customers. This will all be done as part of a dummy RFI (based on an actual company requirement) that has been created by Griffin Internet specifically for the occasion and which asks the companies to present a fifteen minute pitch followed by a short question and answer session.

Affiniti, Gamma, Hipcom, Swyx, Teleware and Vanilla IP have all confirmed that they will be presenting their solutions at the event.

As one of the few suppliers of a ‘voice ready’ IP network, Griffin is constantly asked to recommend telephony partners and the dummy RFI allows a unique opportunity for some of Griffin’s customers to see at first hand the different approaches that hosted telephony companies can provide.

The RFI that has been created for this event asks the telephony companies to create the best solution for a fictitious home building company that is constantly moving from one site development to the next, but needing a more cost effective solution than installing and renting BT lines at each development site. The presentations need to demonstrate cost savings but also how to guarantee a high quality of service.

All the presentations will be scored by Griffin’s partners against a number of key criteria including the quality of the presentation and how successful the proposed solution was in terms of addressing the needs outlined in the RFI. All scores will then be given confidentially to the presenting teams by way of valuable feedback. There will also be an opportunity for the invited companies to network with Griffin customers over dinner after the presentations have been made.

Adrian Sunderland, Technical Director at Griffin Internet: “This is the perfect opportunity for hosted telephony companies to present in front of potential customers and to prove how effective their solutions can be in adding real business value. The RFI that we have created is a great example of the scenario in which we are seeing some great opportunities for hosted telephony companies.”

The event will take place on the 9th October starting at 3.45 pm in the Solario Suite and Bendigo Bar at Sandown Park, Esher, Surrey. A champagne reception and an evening meal will also be provided. Space is limited and therefore only one representative per company can be accommodated. Priority is given to Griffin’s existing Partners however places will also be generally available on a first come first served basis.
