South West Comms earns information security standard

South West Communications Group has been awarded the British Standards Institute’s (BSI) certification in recognition of its commitment to maintaining the security of its customers’ data.

ISO 2700 certification means South West Communications Group’s data centre and engineers in Exeter are now liable for formal auditing and compliance with the BSI’s standards to ensure its customers have complete peace of mind regarding the security of their data.

The ISO 27001 privacy compliance and management framework establishes common governance goals for all data centre operators to adhere to.

John Holdstock, South West Communications Group’s ICT director, said: “This standard ensures we remain faithful to the tight security and risk management required to safeguard our customer’s information. While we have always followed our own strict privacy and security measures ever since our purpose-built data centre opened, these standards have now been formalised as further proof of our diligence.”

South West Communications Group’s data centre currently accommodates 120 cabinets with the capacity to quadruple the amount of cabinets as demand continues to grow. It offers co-location and managed server hosting along with off-site data backup and other disaster recovery solutions.
