Reseller South West Communications Group has provided a feature-rich IP telephone system to a leading team of barristers in Bristol.
Albion Chambers has 56 barristers including four Queen’s Counsel, situated at the centre of Bristol close to the courts.
South West Communications Group had been regular contact with Albion Chambers for many years when an opportunity arose to replace its existing telephone system that was inflexible and did not come with the levels of support and maintenance it required.
Albion Chambers wanted to use embrace modern technology to suit its working practices such as being able to replay voice messages from their desktop handset when in the office or via emails from their iPhones when out at court.
Exeter-based South West Communications Group was selected to deploy an Alcatel-Lucent telephone system complete with the very latest in telecommunications features that could help the barristers and their support staff carry out their day-to-day tasks more efficiently and cost-effectively.
Sarah Flowers, sales director for South West Communications Group, said: “We were delighted to provide Albion Chambers with the robust and flexible telephone system it needed. An application was included to enable staff to answer and transfer calls on their PCs as well as have the ability to dial directly from their email contacts and view the presence of other users showing whether they are available or on the phone.
“Premicell gateways were also added to route calls to mobile phones via a mobile network instead of being routed through Albion Chambers’ landlines. We are pleased to report that these gateways have saved Albion Chambers around 35% on its call spend.”
All of South West Communications Group’s solutions are project managed to ensure the installation process is seamlessly carried out with a minimum of disruption and continued support is provided between 8am and 6pm from Monday to Friday, plus remote engineering support 24/7.
Albion Chambers’ manager Ian Woodward said: “The whole process from start to finish was a real delight. Any nerves I had about implementing a new system two weeks before not only the holiday period but my own annual leave where unfounded. Having knowledgeable and experienced engineers on site for two weeks meant that we were able to fully capture the requirements of the system, but also the quirks of the business. It was a pleasure to work with such a dedicated team.”
