South West Communications Awarded Contract

South West Communications Group has been awarded the contract to provide a new ShoreTel telephone solution to All Saints Academy in Plymouth, Devon.

The Academy, which services the educational needs of over 1,000 students and employs 200+ members of staff, is about to embark on the second phase of a construction and refurbishment programme which will see the existing Avaya telephone system removed from its east wing.

Rob Bromidge, network manager, said: “All Saints has embarked on an exciting period of redevelopment with a new building and refurbishment work worth £12 million being undertaken to replace or remodel parts of the school that were built in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.

“On completion, the Academy will have extensive, flexible and adaptable learning spaces, a new theatre and creative arts areas plus new ICT facilities, furniture and equipment, including a telephone system that will suit this modern environment.”

On completion of a formal tender process, South West Communications Group was awarded the contract to install and maintain a ShoreTel Unified Communications (UC) IP telephone solution for 75 users.

Sarah Flowers, South West Communications Group’s sales director, said: “We already provided All Saints Academy with its telephone lines and call charges before the tender was issued. This existing relationship meant we were in an ideal position to advise the Academy on the most suitable solution, which would then create a stress-free, single telecommunications solution from a known supplier.

“We have worked with many schools that have had to reorganise their telephone systems to accommodate building work. We will ensure the Academy’s staff will still be able to use their phones throughout the refurbishment process and will train them on the new system once it has been installed to ensure they enjoy a smooth migration process.”
