The MiCD solution is a scalable IP telephony services platform that delivers multiple instances of Mitel Communications Director (MCD) on an industry standard server platform. It enables SpiriTel to deliver the telephony service to large enterprises with many branches or locations, using a private ‘cloud’, hosted from a data centre.
The company says that as a highly scalable solution, new users can be added to the system quickly. It offers feature rich functionality, without the upfront capital investment normally associated with premises based systems. End users’ management overheads and the cost of ownership are reduced, whilst resilience and disaster recovery are enhanced and simplified.
The release of the Mitel solution is seen in many quarters as a significant development in business communications. One of the fastest growing areas of business telephony over the coming years is expected to be the transition of large corporations to a hosted or virtualised environment.
