Spitfire, the business Internet telephony service provider and ISP, has been appointed as the first certified SIP Trunk provider in the UK for the new snom ONE IP telephony system. snom ONE supports all the functionalities of snom’s IP phones. Spitfire’s appointment follows extensive interoperability testing with the snom ONE system.
Designed as an ISDN replacement, Spitfire’s SIP Trunk typically offers business quality secure telephony at up to 50 per cent less than the monthly rental cost of an equivalent ISDN service. This saving also incorporates the cost of the Internet circuit which carries the calls. As one of the few ISPs and fixed line operators to offer a SIP Trunk service, Spitfire offers a complete end-to-end SIP service via its own IP and TDM infrastructure. Spitfire can provide a direct connection between the customers’ premises and Spitfire’s core network over the UK’s widest range of SDSL, ADSL or Ethernet circuits, including bonded xDSL connections.
snom ONE IP PBX solution is designed with simplicity and affordability in mind, enabling businesses to enjoy the benefits of an advanced IP PBX system while taking full advantage of the functionality in snom’s award winning suite of IP desktop and wireless DECT phones including hot desking, voicemail to e-mail, call screening and call redirections along with presence and monitoring. Jonathan Greenwood, Managing Director of snom UK said, “We are very pleased to have Spitfire as the first certified SIP Trunk provider for the snom ONE IP telephony system. It means our customers can get the full benefit of the snom ONE system and our feature rich handsets with the added value of SIP Trunks, greatly reducing telephony operating costs.”
Commenting on the agreement for Spitfire, Tom Fellowes, Sales Director said, “We are delighted to have achieved full interoperability for the snom ONE with Spitfire SIP Trunks. As a mature technology our customers can adopt Spitfire SIP Trunks as a cost effective alternative to ISDN30e with full confidence. Providing the IP circuit ourselves allows us to control the quality of service delivery to the customer. We have also developed a range of back up services to ensure that Spitfire SIP Trunking offers business class voice telephony for our customers.”
