Spitfire, the voice and data solution provider, has completed interoperability testing and accreditation for its SIP Trunking service with the VoIPCortex IP PBX solution. The solution provides full phone system functionality across an IP infrastructure.
Designed as an ISDN30e and ISDN2e replacement, Spitfire’s SIP Trunking offers business quality secure telephony at typically up to 50 percent less than the monthly rental cost of an equivalent ISDN service. As one of the only ISPs and fixed line operators to offer a SIP Trunk service, Spitfire offers a complete end-to-end SIP service via its own IP and TDM infrastructure. Spitfire can provide a direct connection between the customers’ premises and Spitfire’s core network over the UK’s widest range of reduced price SDSL circuits, ADSL and Ethernet circuits.
Founded in 2002, IP Cortex is a specialist provider of converged network products and expertise. The company’s VoIPCortex IP PBX is an open, scalable, accessible and feature-laden converged communications solution. Commenting on the completion of interoperability testing with Spitfire SIP Trunking, Lauren Morris, Channel Account Manager for IP Cortex said, “While we pride ourselves on our open credentials, promoting freedom of choice across the channel, we know just how important it is to provide our resellers with absolute certainty when it comes to interoperability. We are pleased to be able to welcome Spitfire as an approved VoIP service provider.”
For Spitfire Tom Fellowes, Sales Director said, “We have now completed interoperability testing with a range of phone systems. The completion of interoperability testing with IP Cortex allows our partners access to a fantastic platform, which combined with our resilient and high quality SIP Trunks offers an outstanding SIP solution which is ideally positioned for these challenging times. We have been determined to carry out rigorous testing on all hardware platforms that we recommend to our partners to ensure we are able to deliver a genuinely business class service to our channel and clients. This is the underlying principle in our approach to SIP Trunks – rigorous testing, combined with our own circuits and call termination allows us full control over call quality and customer satisfaction. With the range of backup services including duplicate IP circuits that Spitfire offer, we are confident that Spitfire SIP Trunking is now a mature technology that customers can adopt as a cost effective alternative to ISDN30e.”
