Spitfire urges SME businesses to act fast on broadband scheme

The UK's Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme has recently had its maximum grant available reduced to £2,500 to spark interest from SME businesses. Spitfire is a registered supplier for the government backed scheme. The grant contributes to upgrade of SME businesses broadband to a fast and reliable connection over gigabit capable infrastructure.

To supply gigabit speeds, a full fibre connection is required, rather than conventional copper wires. The government funded voucher of up to £2,500 will allow Spitfire to provide successful business applicants with the necessary fibre connection to their premises. Business voucher applicants can increase the value of the grant by applying with other businesses in their location.

Commenting on the change, Dominic Norton, Spitfire Engineering Solutions Director said, "The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme has been hugely successful and allowed us to upgrade many business customers to super-fast connectivity. But recently the government has reduced the voucher value by £500 to benefit as many SMEs as possible. I would urge any SME businesses relying on cloud connectivity for services, applications and data storage to contact us ASAP as the scheme is supplier-led."
