Splicecom Unveil New Voice Platform

Telephony
Splicecom unveiled its new voice platform to its reseller partners at a series of roadshows around the country last week.

SelectVoice, is a single platform voice solution, developed by Splicecom from the ground up to progress the use of Unified Communications. SelectVoice can be deployed in the cloud, on premise, or any blend of the two and is available through capital purchase or pay monthly terms – or a blend of the two. Delivering an extensive range of fixed and mobile voice capabilities and controlled via an easy-to-use web portal, SelectVoice puts Splicecom customers’ firmly in control of communications into, out of and inside their business. Scaling from two users to many thousand, SelectVoice is perfect for all businesses, whatever their size, type or requirement.

SelectVoice also offers sophisticated, high end call routing functionality and historical call reporting, through Vision Business Management, as standard.

“Splicecom’s heritage is in developing IP PBXs, phones and business management systems,” says Robin Hayman, Director of Marketing & Product Management at Splicecom. “We’ve been doing this since 2001, which is why we offer such a rich feature set across all our solutions. Our SelectVoice system is the latest step on this journey, providing a single platform solution that is cost effective for everyone; from the smallest business to the largest enterprise.”

“Even in the cloud, each customer enjoys their very own system, we don’t force them to share it with other businesses as is the case with hosted. However their particular solution is deployed - in the cloud, on their premises or any blend of the two - the myriad of advanced features and benefits they can enjoy will be exactly the same. And the unparalleled flexibility offered by SelectVoice allows it to be installed on premise today and transitioned, or part transitioned for greater resilience, to the cloud tomorrow. Or visa versa,” continued Hayman. “SelectVoice can run on our MAP and MAP Solo platforms, a reseller provided server, or the customer’s existing virtual server for on-premise deployment. In the cloud Splicecom can provide micro, small, medium or large vMAP virtual servers, or again the reseller or customer can run it on their own cloud infrastructure.”

But the real focus of Splicecom’s new SelectVoice platform is on how easy it is for the channel to sell, install and maintain. Stuart Bell, Head of Sales for the UK & Ireland at Splicecom takes up the story. “We have a very simple per user licence model that remains the same, totally independent to how SelectVoice is deployed or paid for,” states Bell. “One price for an outright purchase and one for pay monthly. This makes it incredibly easy to price at the point of sale for cloud, on premise or blended requirements. Basically take the number of users and multiply by the licence price, plus the cost of the phones – it’s really that simple.”

“We can deliver a complete end-to-end SelectVoice solution, including cloud hosting, connectivity and SIP trunks, or our channel partners can choose to deploy it with any, or all, of these services that they might already have in their portfolio, or that the end-user customer might already be using,” said Bell.

Installation is handled through a new Installation Wizard and Admin Portal which again, in-line with Splicecom’s policy of treating cloud, on premise and blended as equals, is available for installing and managing all SelectVoice solutions.

Finally, at the desktop, to further extend flexibility and reduce the cost of entry, SelectVoice has been designed to work with Yealink SIP phones in addition to Splicecom’s own PCS range of phones. “We supply our WebPartner browser based client as standard with SelectVoice”, continues Bell. “This great app works with both Splicecom and Yealink phones, and gives users easy ‘click & dial’ access to the unified system directory, Favourites, (Splicecom’s value added take on Presence, BLF and speed dials) personal and group call history and voicemail, and comprehensive call forwarding options. The latter, being browser based, are accessible from anywhere, making WebPartner a great DR and business continuity tool as well.”

“SelectVoice delivers on our strategy of ensuring that our partners never have to walk away from a voice deal again. We’ve made SelectVoice solutions easy to sell, easy to install and easy to maintain. The SelectVoice platform can be deployed in the cloud, on premise or any blend of the two and it can be paid for as an outright purchase, a pay monthly service, or any blend of the two. SelectVoice scales from two to several thousand users. It combines all the feature richness that we take for granted with on premise systems with the ease-of-sale, ease-of-installation and ease-of-maintenance associated with hosted systems. As such, SelectVoice is the most channel friendly voice platform around and means that resellers no longer need separate hosted AND on premise offers in their bag to be competitive”, concludes Bell.
