STL hosts Working Smarter seminar at Mercedes GP PETRONAS F1

Delegates at a recent STL seminar heard how new telecoms technology is opening up opportunities for more efficient working practices to help them work smarter.

Supported by high level presentations from a number of STL’s partners including Richard Bligh of Gamma Telecom, Andrew Dickenson of Griffin Internet and Peter Law of Samsung, the theme of the day was how using new communications technology and applications can help organisations become more productive, more efficient and more effective.

STL’s Philip Donigan spoke about business continuity and how the new cloud based technology and in-bound call features have made this easier. He commented, “Many organisations have little idea just how easy it is to use new technology to help them work smarter and that it is often more cost effective. It was great to see the audience enthralled by the presentations and keen to ask questions.”

The final presentation was by Matt Harris, IT Manager of Mercedes GP Petronas, who gave an insightful talk about the role of IT within an F1 team in keeping the car running. Voice and data communications at trackside and at the factory play a key part and he talked about the solutions and support that STL gives and the changes that have been made to the way the team works as a result of new telecoms technology.

Following the seminar, some of the delegates enjoyed a tour of the Mercedes GP Petronas factory, getting up-close and personal with the F1 cars as well as finding out the inside story on life in the pit lane.

Philip Donigan, STL’s Sales Director concludes, “The way we work is changing and the use of unified communications is delivering significant and tangible business process improvements to organisations large and small.”
