Swyx launches Plug & play unified comms support for Lotus Notes

Swyx has announced a new Option Pack for its software-based UC solution SwyxWare that now provides seamless integration for IBM Lotus Notes. Available from December 2009, the new Version 7 of SwyxWare will give Lotus Notes users access to powerful telephony functions that will lead to greater efficiency in the workplace. Unlike middleware solutions that require extensive integration and development efforts to enable Lotus Notes to support UC, Swyx’s solution can be configured quickly and easily.

With the new SwyxWare 7 Option Pack for Lotus Notes, users will be able to dial directly from their contacts as well as recognising incoming calls. Voice messages can also be re-directed to their inbox as WAV/MP3 files, so they can retrieve messages wherever they have access to email. Intelligent call routing is also possible by accessing information within Lotus Notes Calendars and re-directing calls according to availability. This together with use of ‘presence’ information can significantly increase the availability of employees across a company.

Ralf Ebbinghaus, Executive Vice President at Unified Communications vendor Swyx said, “SwyxWare 7 will set a new standard in the implementation of Unified Communications. Using Swyx, it is now possible to integrate telephony functions with Lotus Notes, merging voice and data into a personal inbox. We believe that businesses will welcome this new opportunity that follows on from the success and popularity of our Microsoft Outlook integration”.

SwyxWare 7 Option Pack supports Lotus Notes release 8.5 or higher. For older versions, support is available using Swyx’s Software Development Kit (SDK).
