Swyx, a vendor of unified communications for SMEs, has announced the launch of its latest product SwyxWare version 6.20 that introduces a new range of system phones and gives customers the possibility to use dual mode mobile phones. Altogether, SwyxWare now supports more than 1,000 varieties of telephone devices giving users the freedom to choose what type of phone suits them best.

The new Swyx L6xx telephone series covers the models SwyxPhone L620, L640, L660 and L680. All devices have a tiltable graphic display, access to call lists, directories, caller information and other applications (starting from SwyxPhone L660, in colour). These are available in two colour variants ‘ice blue’ and ‘lava’.

SwyxWare v6.20 also supports selected dual mode mobile phones such as the Nokia models E65, E61i and E90. By combining mobiles with SwyxWare, users can fully benefit from fixed mobile convergence.

Alexandra Ernst, VP corporate development at Swyx, explained the strategy: “With the new SwyxWare version we are not only announcing support for a new generation of system phones, but we are widening the range of telephone devices that can be used.

“With traditional telephone systems the selection of phones has been severely limited to those models provided by the phone manufacturer,” she continued. “Today SwyxWare supports a diverse range of devices including low cost USB phones in combination with a feature-rich softphone, deskphones with large colour displays, DECT/WLAN/SIP terminals, mobile phones and smartphones with Windows Mobile, Blackberry and Symbian operating systems.”
