On Sunday 17th July, ProVu’s Sales Account Manager, Gavin Sykes took part in a charity skydive. Raising funds for Weston Park Cancer Charity, Gavin undertook the event in memory of his dad who sadly lost his battle with Cancer back in January this year.
Having been initially scheduled in June, Gavin’s original skydive had to be postponed due to poor weather conditions. Luckily for Gavin his rescheduled date turned out to have some of the best weather we’ve seen for a while with nothing but blue skies.
Gavin said, “The first moments when I jumped out of the plane were almost surreal. When you start accelerating straight down with the air rushing past at 120mph, it was like nothing I’ve ever felt before! Even now, a few weeks later, I cannot get over how amazing the experience was.
“It was a huge honour to be able to do this for Weston Park. The work that they do is vital to both current and future cancer patients all over the UK and needs everyone’s support to keep going; that’s why I’ve already committed to doing it again next year!”
Continuing on with his Dad’s ‘bucket list’ Gavin and his family plan to go on raising funds for Weston Park Cancer Charity. To date, they have raised over £1200.00.
