Networks & Network Services
Synchronica, the AIM-listed mobile email and synchronisation provider, has announced it has signed a contract with a mobile operator in Pakistan for an initial 50,000 user licence of its award winning mobile email product Mobile Gateway.

The operator has issued a purchase order worth $121,500 for the initial user license and has also ordered professional services for $29,750.

The operator has more than 20 million subscribers in Pakistan, a market Synchronica sees as having large growth potential for its technology. According to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, in July 2009 Pakistan mobile subscriber base reached a total of 95 million, with a penetration rate of 58% up from 39% at the end of 2007.

The operator will use Synchronica's Mobile Gateway to offer a push email and mobile synchronisation service to its subscribers. Synchronica's technology is well suited for the Pakistani market as it requires no additional software client to be downloaded to the handset and enables push email for the broadest range of handsets, from high end Smartphones to low-cost entry level devices.
