Tanny Price leaves Avenir for Vodafone – Data Select supplying replacement?

Networks & Network Services
Tanny Price has left Avenir Telecom after over a decade’s service to join Vodafone’s enterprise division. Price has been managing director at Avenir for the last four years.

After 11 years at Avenir, Price will be joining Vodafone to work on promoting the indirect channel side of its business. A successor to Price has been appointed, and will be announced in the next two weeks.

However, rumours in the channel are already pointing at Data Select’s managing director of mobile services, Andy Tow, as the managing director in waiting for Avenir despite nothing on the new head of the business being confirmed. Tow joined Data Select in March this year, after he left Unique in February.

On her move, Price commented: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Avenir and I am proud of all that the company has achieved in securing the market leading position that it has today. While I will miss the company, and the people, I am looking forward to starting at Vodafone and taking on the new challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, and utilising my practical working experience and knowledge of the mobile channel.”

Jean-Daniel Beurnier, group chairman at Avenir Telecom, stated: “Tanny has achieved a great deal at Avenir, and leaves the company in a very strong position. As well as dominating the B2B market, Tanny has driven Avenir to seize the opportunities in the IT sector, following the recent successful partnerships with Westcoast and HP.

“Her vision in identifying the benefits of this diversification and expanding the business despite the industry’s continued consolidation is testament to her commercial ability,” Beurnier continued. “This is combined with her passion to create a defining culture within the company, which has inspired and empowered all employees to embrace personal development and to work collaboratively together in line with the vision and objectives of the business. A successor has been appointed and we will be making an official announcement in due course. However, I am confident that the new managing director will continue to grow the company, taking it from strength to strength, building on its successes and the strong foundation that has been created.”
