MDShas announced this week that Andrew Taylor has joined the MDS Board as a Non-Executive Director, to support the company’s growth plans.
Former CEO of Intec, a supplier of billing and operations support systems, Andrew brings a wealth of telecoms industry experience. He is currently Group CEO of Nomad Digital, a rapidly growing provider of wireless services for trains and buses.
Andrew’s career spans over 23 years, holding executive positions in Alcatel Lucent, British Telecom and O2 Germany (Viag Interkom).
In November 2011, Andrew was named Regional CEO at Digicel, leading provider of fixed and wireless telecoms across the Caribbean, with overall responsibility for their Northern Caribbean operations and Group wide responsibility for Digicel’s Business Solutions and ICT activities.
Prior to this and from January 2008, Andrew was Group CEO at Intec Telecom, a publicly listed software and services business with operations in over 45 countries. He led the transformation of Intec into a major global player, delivering significant stakeholder value through the sale of the business to CSG Systems for $380m.
In addition, and until recently, Andrew was a Board member at Scottish Water Business Stream, where he held the positions of Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the remuneration committee.
Andrew comments, “MDS has excellent product and technology credentials, well established and very strong customer relationships, and a world class team focused on designing, implementing and managing solutions. The managed service capability resonates strongly with operators, providing an alternative to in-house customer management and enabling them to develop their digital services portfolio quickly and compete more favourably in the market.”
Andrew added “MDS is at an exciting point in its development. I am thrilled to have joined the Board at this important time. The MDS platform allows for fast product innovation over a proven managed service, something that operators really need.”
Mark Edwards, CEO of MDS, said: “We are delighted that Andrew Taylor is joining us. Andrew’s broad experience in the industry and his direct connections with wireless providers will bring invaluable support to MDS’s growth.”
