TDMaverick, the specialist audiovisual business unit of Computer 2000, has announced that Simon Fagan is to take up the position of General Manager UK and Ireland. Fagan is joining the company after a three-and-a-half-year spell at Xerox, where he was European General Manager for the Desktop Printing and Supplies Group.
He brings more than 16 years of experience working in the UK industry to the role. Previously, he spent a total of seven years with Computer 2000, in a number of roles, most recently as head of Computer 2000’s Print and Supplies business unit. He left to join Xerox in 2009. His earlier career included an eight-year spell with Epson, where he headed the UK operation as Sales and Marketing Director, leading a differentiated and multi-channel team with product and service specialisation in audiovisual, professional graphics and consumer technology, achieving record market shares in all these categories.
Commenting on his appointment, Fagan said: “Maverick is a dynamic business that’s seen significant growth as a specialist distributor in recent years. We see more potential for expansion, both within Maverick’s focus area and through the many established customer relationships we have with resellers in converging market areas, such as audiovisual, networking and consumer electronics. As people interact and share ideas more, audiovisual technologies are appealing to a wider market, in both the public and commercial sectors. I’m looking forward to working with the Maverick team and with our vendor partners to maximise the opportunities, both within the audiovisual space and the multiple channels to which we have direct and unrivalled access.”
Fagan comes into the Maverick role following the departure of Sid Stanley, who has joined Promethean, the leading global specialist developer of interactive solutions and one of Maverick’s exclusive vendor partners. He takes up his new post with immediate effect, reporting to David Watts, Commercial Director of Computer 2000.
