UK Tecdesk is partnering with telecoms giant BT and be the sole supplier of SIM operated deskphones for BT’s One Phone service. This business offering from BT brings together desk phones, mobile phones, and phone system into a single hosted service. As part of the service’s product range, Tecdesk provides its Tecdesk 3600 model with the Tecdesk 900 following later in the year – more than 1000 units have been shipped since the BT One Phone service launched in July.
Delivering the flexibility of a mobile phone with the functionality and features of traditional office-based phone, SIM operated deskphones can reduce capital and operational expenditure for businesses while providing a reliable and secure communications service over the mobile network.
SIM operated deskphones connect to a virtual PBX network, saving businesses from investing in a fixed line PBX system and reducing the costs and set up complexity of a traditional office-based telecoms systems.
Jay Pau, CEO of Tecdesk says “Our partnership with BT shows the SIM operated deskphone is fast emerging as a serious cost effective solution for businesses. Traditionally, installing a new fixed line or IP-based phone system can prove costly for companies; SIM operated deskphones reduce this expenditure by using the mobile network. Another major advantage of a SIM operated deskphone is its incredible flexibility – it can be easily moved from office to office, location to location without any extra investment. BT’s commitment to the SIM operated deskphone shows this technology is one to watch.”
