Tech Data has signed a UK distribution agreement with Jawbone and will be working with the company to both strengthen its presence in the retail sector and take its range of innovative products to key vertical markets.
Tech Data will make use of its extensive reach in the UK consumer technology channel to extend availability of the UP by Jawbone range to additional retail outlets. The distributor will also be working to recruit specialist partners and drive awareness and customer demand in specific areas, including the fashion, pharmaceuticals, and insurance industries.
The UP system has already been attracting attention in all of these markets, and Tech Data will be looking to build on that momentum, says Michael Cain, Business Development Manager for Wearable Technologies at Tech Data.
“The UP range of Jawbone wearable activity trackers is becoming an increasingly familiar sight on the wrists of consumers. By combining the unique design of UP activity trackers with the award-winning UP app, Jawbone provides the best-in-class wellness solution. Tech Data will be drawing on all its experience and capabilities in the consumer electronics sector to build Jawbone’s presence in the market and meet the diverse needs of retailers. We will also be focusing on specialist outlets and websites, such as those selling fashion, pharmacy and health products, to open up new areas of growth potential. We believe there is vast potential in this area of the market for Jawbone.”
