Tech Data unveils consumption-based vulnerability and pen testing offering

Tech Data has formed a new partnership with edgescan to offer partners consumption-based vulnerability scanning and penetration testing. This as -a-service offering allows customers to buy the services as they use them, giving partners another option when selling to customers.

Tech Data said it has identified a number of potential opportunities through key managed security services partners (MSSPs) and expects to see demand increasing swiftly.

Alison Nixon (pictured), director of security, Tech Data Advanced Solutions, UK and Ireland, said, “One of the constant challenges organisations face with security is knowing where the gaps are in their defences – and no-one wants to discover that the hard way. With edgescan’s solutions and services, backed by Tech Data’s own security expertise and services, partners can offer comprehensive vulnerability management that will identify any possible attack surfaces that cybercriminals could exploit. That has tremendous value for customers – reducing their risk and enhancing their overall security posture. It gives partners huge potential to extend their security services offering.”

Edgescan is a full-stack vulnerability management SaaS solution that combines highly-advanced scanning technology with custom testing by expert security engineers.

Tech Data’s security practice team and edgescan will work together to provide the knowledge and support partners need in delivering the company’s vulnerability management to enterprise and mid-market customers.
