Telephonetics Appoints New Director

Speech recognition specialist Telephonetics has announced the appointment of Mark Brooks, 43, as Director.

Brooks founded Voice Integrated Products Limited (VIP) in 1991, a company which was subsequently acquired by Telephonetics in 2006. During his tenure he held the positions of both Technical and Managing Director, developing VIP into the dominant player in the UK public sector space, via a range of innovative voice and speech solutions built to address specific customer needs. His background, experience and contacts provide him with a very unique insight into the speech market and its future direction.

Mike Neville, chairman of the Telephonetics Board, commented, "Mark brings with him many years of industry experience by virtue of his success at VIP. His work there made VIP an ideal partner for Telephonetics via our combination of hosted and premises-based capabilities, customer penetration and scalable, resilient speech technology."

Since the amalgamation of the two businesses, Telephonetics has further strengthened its position within the public sector by the implementation of new solutions to help automate high demand services. Examples include the use of speech to automate payments, reminders and even the provision of results.

Following his appointment, Brooks stated, "The speech market is clearly about to enter a phase of dynamic growth. Telephonetics understands the inherent opportunities and is perfectly positioned to take full advantage of them. This augurs extremely well for the future."
