TeleWare, the provider of intelligent business communication solutions to large and medium Enterprise and Service Providers, has announced availability of the TeleSpeak voice activated directory as part of its suite of intelligent Office applications, enabling customers to create, modify and enhance office communications with interactive voice solutions.
TeleSpeak uses speech recognition technology from Scansoft to provide voice activated directory access and call routing capability for IP and traditional telephony applications, with support for a wide range of different languages. The voice directory is supported, updated and maintained by TeleWare as part of its customer TeleSpeak support contract.
TeleSpeak is the latest addition to the range of interactive voice solutions including TeleWare Text-to-Speech, intelligent Application Builder ASR & TTS and Email Speaker software.
“Text-to-speech and speech recognition have come of age today. They provide good quality solutions and highly visible returns on investment for businesses,” explains Tony Knight, Managing Director of the TeleWare Group. “Incorporating these capabilities into our product set allows our customers to build on their existing investment, taking advantage of these now mature technologies as part of their voice strategy.”
TeleSpeak is a scalable system capable of dealing with over 250,000 directory entries, using ‘state of art’ speaker independent speech recognition technology combined with highly tuned language resources specific to the task of call routing. It provides highly accurate recognition and retrieval from large vocabularies including name, department, topic and location information. Other typical applications include Booking systems, Company information and Voice controlled menus.
“We have been using the TeleSpeak directory at TeleWare for some time now, and we are installing the capability at an increasing number of our customer’s sites,” added Knight.
