Ipanema Technologies, a supplier of application traffic management systems for wide area networks, has announced today that its Business Network Optimisation system has been selected by reseller Telindus, to form part of a new application-centric managed service offering.
IT and networking departments are increasingly called on to align with business goals and guarantee the delivery and performance of key business applications. Network managers are looking for service providers that can offer application-centric Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
According to research carried out by Vanson Bourne and commissioned by Ipanema in June 2007, 86 per cent of UK enterprises with 1000-3000 employees estimate the cost of application performance problems to be more than £500,000 per year. In light of this, 93 per cent of the senior IT decision makers surveyed expressed a desire for increased visibility and control over their WAN traffic. The relationship between Ipanema and Telindus recognises and responds to this demand.
