Thus Offers an Evolutionary Pathway to VoIP Telephony

Thus has today announced the launch of its new Wholesale IP Exchange Line service which is a significant extension to Thus ’ Business Class IP Voice services and will they say become the defacto replacement for ISDN services as the standard for customer PSTN connectivity.

As IP Exchange lines are available across the Thus next-generation network (NGN), it is ideal for enabling business grade, mission-critical voice services and enabling customers to take advantage of the benefits that NGNs deliver. In addition to delivering security, flexibility and scalability, the lines provide feature rich capability and can lead to significant savings through reducing total number of lines required and potential reduction in end users hardware and operational expenditure.

Customers using Wholesale IP Exchange Lines services can achieve greater flexibility over where calls are routed, providing the ability to send calls directly to employees wherever they have accessed a company’s network. Wholesale IP Exchange Lines provide greater scalability and faster network upgrades while retaining support for standard telephony features including Direct Dial In (DDI) and Call Barring. Introducing IP protocol further extends customer choice particularly for users wanting to take advantage of the additional media and collaboration capabilities it supports. Furthermore, Thus have porting agreements with all major network providers allowing customers to move over without cost or concern.

Nigel Stevens, Product Director at Thus plc, commented: "Thus has an excellent track record of delivering innovative services to its customers, drawing on strong experience of delivering a range of voice, data and internet services, as well as a next-generation network applications.
