THUS team pedals to success for Scottish children’s charity

Three intrepid members of THUS have saddled up and cycled an impressive 51 miles between Glasgow and Edinburgh to raise money for Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS).

John McColgan and James Stewart from the THUS Channel Sales team and John McDermott, Service Manager, set themselves the goal of cycling from Glasgow to Edinburgh as part of the Pedal for Scotland event 2010, which took place on the 12th September. The team raised £1,011 for the children’s charity, exceeding a target of £750.

Pedal for Scotland is Scotland's biggest bike ride and attracted around 7000 participants this year. The money raised from THUS will go to CHAS, a Scottish charity that provides the only hospice services in Scotland for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

John McDermott commented: “We’re ecstatic to have raised so much money for such a truly worthy cause, especially by doing something we have a keen passion for. Despite some aching legs, the journey was great fun and the money we raised has made it all worthwhile!”
