Timico Acquires Twang.net

Timico Group has announced a move that will strengthen its position as a provider of IP and next generation converged communications services to the UK business community. The acquisition of Twang.net Limited, a UK-based Integrated Communications Provider and specialist provider of fully managed homeworking solutions will advance Timico’s own Managed Homeworker Services offering and will add some of the UK’s largest FTSE100 companies to the Timico client portfolio.

“The acquisition of Twang.net Limited allows us to achieve a strategic aim to further increase the value of our business by building on our range of services to address the growing demand amongst corporate customers for managed broadband solutions. Through its supply of premium quality business services, supported by systems integration and technical excellence, Twang.net demonstrates that it shares our commitment to the delivery of top quality, business-strength solutions to its customers,” says Tim Radford, Chairman, Timico Group.

Based in Newbury, Berkshire, Twang.net has traded successfully since 1999 with sustained year on year profitable revenue growth selling premium internet connectivity, voice and data solutions through its direct sales team. Twang.net’s owners and founding partners, James Sumsion (Managing Director), Jeremy Sharp (Technical Director) and the existing management team will continue to lead and drive the growth of the company, which will remain headquartered in Newbury. Twang.net currently employs 35 people, which is expected to increase in line with the business achieving its growth ambitions. The company will run as a standalone subsidiary of the Timico Group and James Sumsion will join the Timico board of directors.

“This is great news for Twang.net. As part of the Timico Group, we can further leverage our strengths within a group environment whilst gaining access to a wider ranging IP network and the market leading converged services from the Timico portfolio,” says James Sumsion.
