Timico Technology Group Ltd (Timico), the independent managed services provider, has announced the acquisition of Redwood Telecommunications Limited (Redwood), the London based unified communications service provider.
Since 1992, Redwood has combined best of breed technology to provide voice and data solutions for businesses in the financial services, professional services, insurance and media sector with a host of UK-based and international business clients. Redwood has developed particular expertise in Mitel and Avaya IP telephony solutions, conferencing and contact centre services.
“The acquisition of Redwood is an exciting step forward for Timico. Redwood has a solid heritage in unified communications, a London office and a strong relationship with its customers. The expertise and breadth of IP telephony and unified communication services that Redwood offers will complement the mobile, data networking and hosting expertise we have elsewhere in the group. There is a strong cultural fit and its London base will enable Timico to build a presence in this important market.” said Tim Radford, Chairman, Timico Technology Group.
Redwood employs 28 staff from its London office including a 24 hour customer support centre. Field-based engineers support customers nationally and internationally including companies such as Broadgate Estates, Clarksons plc, General Mills, Glasses Direct and Jimmy Choo.
Charlie Whelpton, Managing Director and co-founder will continue to manage the company as an independent subsidiary within the Timico Technology Group. Commenting on the acquisition, he said: “We are extremely excited about integrating our skills and expertise into the Timico group, to extend the range of services Timico offers to its customers. In turn we can see the enormous potential to offer Timico’s extensive products and services set within our client base. Both companies share a strong customer service ethic and the geographical blend will enable Timico and Redwood to extend their reach.”
Timico recently opened a new tier III data centre in Newark to provide hosted IT solutions to customers across the Timico group, which now includes four service provider brands: Timico, Newnet, Powernet and Redwood.
