Tiscali and Voyager Join Forces

Tiscali, the Internet and broadband company, has announced a partnership with reseller Voyager Networks Limited a leader in the provision of integrated voice, video and data networks to help public sector organisations reach their government targets.

Voyager, now a Tiscali channel partner, will be reselling Tiscali’s Quality over DSL (QoDSL) service, which guarantees allocated bandwidth for applications such as VoIP. Voyager specialises in providing voice and video connectivity solutions to the public sector.

The partnership will see Voyager targeting the social housing sector which, under targets set out in the Gershon report, needs to merge and consolidate the existing 1400 housing associations into 100 housing association groups. QoDSL is an ideal way of joining up businesses that are geographically spread out but can’t afford to have a leased line installed in every site.

Chris Key, head of new business development for Voyager says, “Until Tiscali’s QoDSL was launched there was a huge gap in the market between standard broadband and business solutions, such as leased lines. Our partnership with Tiscali means that we can offer our customers a high quality voice and data connectivity solution. In real terms, it is a cost effective way of joining up organisations with numerous sites, allowing them to share information over a consistent infrastructure.”

Nathan Francis, general manager of Tiscali Business Services says: “Voyager’s experience and expertise in supporting the public sector makes it the perfect partner to take us there. They understand the increasing pressure on government organisations to meet cost and efficiency targets and we firmly believe that we have combined solutions that can help them achieve these.”

Voyager will be selling Tiscali’s IPVPN solutions as part of a managed service right from consultancy to after sales support of the network and applications running over it.
