Kaspersky Lab, a leading provider of security solutions that protect against viruses, Trojans, worms, spyware, crimeware, rootkits, phishing, hacker attacks and spam, has today given its support to Safer Internet Day 2008, taking place from Tuesday 12th February 2008

To mark its support of this initiative, Kaspersky Lab UK is giving away 1000 1-year licenses of Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 – free of charge to the first 1000 that send an email including their contact details to safeonline@kasperskylab.co.uk. This offer is open to residents of the UK and Ireland only. Additionally, to request a free Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 60-day trial and ‘Safe Online Guide’, please visit www.kaspersky.co.uk/safeonline.

Safer Internet Day 2008 is a global initiative driven by the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT), a network of police forces from around the world working together to fight online child abuse. The aim of the VGT is to build an effective, international partnership of law enforcement agencies that helps to protect children online, and, ultimately, will help to make the Internet a safer place. In the UK this programme is supported by the Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre.
