Toshiba announces VoIP unlimited partnership

Toshiba has announced a partnership with VoIP Unlimited allowing Toshiba to present its IPedge communication servers to the wider SMB market. In addition, Toshiba’s IPedge Communications Server is set to receive its latest software update (1.5), designed to enhance the experience on the IPedge through its smartphone application.

To complement the partnership, VoIP Unlimited has made available a powerful suite of online support tools for IPPBX installers and their customers. Accessed via a support portal, partners can view network level SIP traces in realtime, live registration and network status, telephone number configuration, 999 address updates and effective ticket management. The features were built following feedback from its channel partners. VoIP Unlimited also provides a number of counter-measures against toll fraud, providing additional value to Toshiba customers. The company constantly monitors traffic patterns, automatically suspending and sending alerts if suspicious activity is detected.

“Our partnership with VoIP Unlimited will further increase the level of support available to Toshiba’s partners working in the SMB space,” says Daniel Fuller-Smith, Sales Manager for Toshiba in Europe. “IPedge has always been a strong proposition for the SMB sector, thanks to its simple and scalable nature, but VoIP Unlimited’s expertise in this market will only serve to encourage the broader implementation of IPedge and IP trunks across this market.”

“Our service is an ideal proposition for Toshiba’s SMB prospects,” declares Steve Bieniek, VoIP Unlimited’s Strategic Alliance Director. “The company’s IP solution is already well regarded as a reliable and easy to use system in the wider industry, and so pairing this existing reputation with our support will make Toshiba’s IP offering hard to resist.”

Increasing the appeal of Toshiba’s original offering, IPedge will now be available with a new software update during April that includes enhancements to the IPMobility smartphone app. Available on both Android and iOS, the update is designed to bring the flexible and reliable experience of IPedge to mobile users of its smartphone application. The IPMobility application will allow employees to manage their in- and out-bound voicemails, set call forwards and Do Not Disturb messages from their smartphones. For example, at the press of a button a revised greeting can be recorded to reflect that they are away from the office, or a voicemail received on their deskphone can be accessed, reviewed and deleted wherever they are utilising the smartphones 3G / 4G connection.

“The IPedge 1.5 update will allow organisations to further embrace today’s bring your own device culture and the benefits of unified communications,” concludes Fuller-Smith. “A personal device can be a valuable money-saving tool for SMBs, and this new functionality will further incentivise an investment in our IP products.”
