Toshiba Launches High Capacity Communications Platform

Toshiba Business Communications Divison (BCD) has launched the CIX1200 communication platform, the largest of its CIX range aimed at medium to large companies. The CIX range now includes five platforms; the CIX40, CIX100, CIX200, CIX670 and the new CIX1200 offering nearly double the port capacity of the CIX670 with up to 1,000 extensions.

Toshiba says the new platform provides the tried and tested reliability and functionality of the existing CIX family, with an increase in features such as number of speed dials. It can support up to 1,152 ports, and delivers networked applications for as many as 128 sites to accommodate larger capacity or distributed configurations. The platform is particularly suitable for head and branch offices, single or multi-site companies with both office based and remote staff, call centre environments and university campuses and schools with distributed installations.

Daniel Fuller-Smith, Sales Manager, UK and EMEA, Toshiba BCD comments: “The launch of the CIX1200 recognises the strength and heritage of Toshiba’s technology. Expansion into this higher capacity market demonstrates our desire to support our partners and their customers’ needs as they continue to grow. We hope the CIX1200 will open new market opportunities for our partners.”

Adrian Auld, MD, Voice Services, a Toshiba partner comments: “We are delighted to add this product to our portfolio. Toshiba’s expansion into the medium to large enterprise market means we can continue to support our customers looking to upscale, particularly those with branch offices, by continuing to use the reliable Toshiba platform.”

The Toshiba CIX1200 is backwards compatible, allowing existing Toshiba customers to easily migrate.
