Toshiba Launches Unified Communications Solution for SMES

Toshiba Business Communications Division (BCD) says it has strengthened its offering for the small and medium enterprise (SME) market with unified communications tools, enabling improved efficiency and productivity. The solution consists of two new applications; Strata Call Manager and Strata Messaging, which provide functionalities such as network presence and collaboration.

The company says that SMEs are always looking to improve the productivity of the workforce but for many, managing a phone system can be complex and time consuming. Furthermore, as remote working has become more popular, SMEs often have a mix of on-site employees and remote or home workers. Businesses need to ensure employees can work closely with their colleagues – regardless of where they are and without the need to travel, whilst remaining accessible to their customers.

By implementing functions from the Strata Call Manager and Strata Messaging applications, SMEs can guarantee they have a solution that meets the businesses’ needs. For example, presence tools can help employees collaborate more efficiently with one another. Moreover SMEs can choose to enrich communications with collaboration tools, including a whiteboard feature which can be used to share notes or transfer files. They can also improve the accessibility of off-site workers, by creating rules that determine how calls are handled – forwarded either to another phone or to voicemail for example.

Daniel Fuller-Smith, Sales Manager, UK and EMEA, Toshiba BCD comments: “Although SMEs are beginning to recognise the benefits of unified communications, many are hesitant to embrace new tools. The customisable nature of these solutions overcomes these concerns and offers an easy to manage solution that provides the control and flexibility this market demands.”
