Toshiba Philharmonic Orchestra Right on Queue

Toshiba’s Business Communications Division (BCD) is offering license-free classical music with its Strata CIX system, allowing customers to play calming music for callers whilst on hold, at no extra cost.

The music, a variation of Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 in E minor, is performed by the Toshiba Philharmonic Orchestra, based in Japan. The orchestra consists entirely of the Toshiba employees from throughout the business, including engineers, researchers and salesmen, with a total membership of over 110.

Toshiba has provided a number of pre-recorded messages, in a variety of combinations to allow the customer to provide the most suitable announcement to their callers that are waiting in a queue. The license-free music is available on all of Toshiba’s Strata CIX systems and, in conjunction with the Unified Call Distribution (UCD) that is also included in the Strata CIX, provides a very low cost solution for informal call centres such as technical support functions, or incoming sales calls.
